Dr. Eran Segal

Dr. Eran Segal is a Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Applied Mathematics at the Weizmann Institute of Science. Dr. Segal’s Computational and Systems Biology research focuses on Nutrition, Genetics, Microbiome, and Gene Regulation and their effect on human health and disease. He has in-depth expertise in personalized medicine using machine learning, computational biology, probabilistic modeling, and heterogeneous genomic and clinical data analysis. Dr. Segal has received several awards and honors for his work, to highlight the Michael Bruno Award and the Overton Prize, awarded annually by the International Society for Bioinformatics (ICSB) to one scientist for outstanding accomplishments in the field of computational biology. Dr. Segal is also a veteran entrepreneur who founded DayTwo.
